Trumpet Lessons

Since 1988, Jonathan has taught private trumpet lessons to players of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re beginning study, wanting to advance to the next level, considering a career in music or just playing for pure enjoyment, he has a specific track for you! His school-age students have consistently seated in top chairs in their ensembles, and many have been accepted into local and state honor groups. Aspiring professionals have attended USC, UCLA, CSU Long Beach, Boston University and the Eastman School of Music.

Incorporating insights from his extensive experience as both a performer and educator, lessons include the study of technique, efficient tone production, and rhythm/pitch accuracy as the basis for developing one’s musicality.

Jonathan teaches in an atmosphere of social equality and mutual respect, “meeting students where they are”, and serving as a guide to help each discover their own path and learning style.
